Children's Provision during Morning Services.
At both St Mary's and St James' there is a space set aside for families with younger children. Here there are toys, books, paper and pens to enable children to feel comfortable and engaged whilst being part of the church family in the service. The wider congregation are used to a little bit of wriggling and giggling - we like to think we are a 'no shush' type of church!
Some weeks there are specific activities prepared for children to do that are related to the readings, sermon and themes of the service.
…God has set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. – Ecclesiastes 3:11
We are purposefully, fearfully and wonderfully, formed, each one of us, with God's thumbprint in our hearts. That setting of eternity in our hearts is a persistent, inner awareness that life is meant to be lived for an eternity – to be lived far beyond this fleeting, mortal life we now experience. God’s Thumbprint, God’s setting of eternity in our hearts, is experienced by us as yearning or sensing – sometimes strong and clear, other times quiet and fleeting – that we belong, that we are loved and that we are not alone.
We recognise that we are all different, all unique, but all just as loved by God. So we hope that you will feel welcome in our churches and our church community and that you are able to find out more about this promise of eternal life.
